So today I spotted that v0.2 of the Red5 IDE Eclipse Plug-in was released 10 days ago. D’oh.

Does anyone know of a site that provides the de-facto information and downloads for red5? I get confused looking between:
here: http://code.google.com/p/red5/
…and here… http://osflash.org/red5/
…and here… http://red5.org/ (which doesn’t actually have a homepage but does contain content)
…and here… http://red5world.com/
…plus of course the various blogs of the contributors.
Would be great if one site was established a the main place to start and the other sites linked to it, though I’m sure this is probably one point on a massive To Do list somewhere.
How to upgrade from v0.1 to v0.2:
How to install v0.2:
http://jira.red5.org/confluence/display/tools/Installation
See my previous post about differences to the installation procedure when using Eclipse 3.4 (aka Ganymede).
I’ve tried running the Red5 server from Eclipse again and I got the same error “the system cannot find the path specified“.
I’ve also tried running/restarting the Red5 server from the Services window, but when I run the client Flex app it fails to connect.
I just want it to work now please.

I’m really sorry you’re having so much difficulty
. I’m impressed with your determination though. The difinitive place is the red5 wiki (http://wiki.red5.org/). We the team will be migrating all the osflash stuff to our wiki and this should be your central knowledge base. I’d also suggest you join the mailing list. I’d like to know how your installation and runtime differ than the one I setup in my setup. The error message your seeing seems like you are not changing the default path to the Red5 installation directory during the wizard. If you’re Red5 is in a different location than /Applications/Red5, then you will need to change that. It seems like you did in a previous post, but I can’t tell from this post since you didn’t go into as much detail. Again, I hope that I can help you get this working. Thanks for using the plugin!

Thanks G, hope its been of some use! I’ve had to give up for now as I’m up to my eyeballs in another project, but will be sure to post the solution if/when I find it. Let me know if you have any luck too!
As you can see Dominick from the Red5 team has very kindly offered his assistance (!), so I’ve been meaning to take him up on that offer when I can find some spare time/brain power.

[...] turns out I could have saved a lot of time by reading Robert Silverton’s blog, where he details pretty much exactly what i’ve gone through. Doh! A short message to the Red5 developers: [...]
